The Royal Valley of Valderredible, in the south of Cantabria, is characterised by its microclimate.
This is due to the meeting of currents of Atlantic origin and therefore cold, and on the other hand of warm Mediterranean currents.
This geographical location between the plateau and the coast makes Valderredible, with its sloping, limestone and sandy soils, well oriented to the south for greater exposure to the sun, “ideal for growing vines”.

One of the high points of La Lora, a moorland in the south of the Cantabrian Mountains, at an altitude of 1158m.
The vineyards are located on sloping terrain, characterised by limestone and sandy soils containing abundant rocks and fossils. In addition, they are strategically oriented towards the south to maximise their exposure to the sun. In short, a textbook site for winemaking. High temperatures during the day and very low at night. A winemaker’s dream for making good wines.

Located in the capital of the municipality of Valderredible.
The winery is not only the place where the Camesía wine is produced or stored, but also where the Vinoteca is located and where you can taste our wines and enjoy all the wine tourism experiences in the Valley.
It is the place where we will celebrate “THE ART OF THE SYMPOSIUM”…
The “symposion”, literally “drinking together”, was an institution in ancient Greece. At dusk, in a suitable room in the house, men would gather for a lively dinner, accompanied by the god of wine, Dionysus, and talk about the divine and the human. For the Greeks did not drink alone….
The symposium was common among the ancient Greeks, who loved the merriment of banquets on the occasion of family feasts, town festivals or any other event worth celebrating…

The Valley of Valderredible, located in the south of Cantabria, is structured by the river Ebro.
Valderredible, is a valley “val”, between mountains, on the riverbank “ripa”, of the river Ebro, “Iber”.
Rivers have played a crucial role in the development of human beings and the configuration of our societies.
Near their banks we have developed farming and fishing, essential processes for the appearance of writing and history itself.
Because rivers have been a source of life.
The current landscape of the “Valderredible Valley” is attractive due to its orography and its beautiful natural environment: it is a special place…
In one of those old plots of land in Valderredible, the Lucio family discovered a perfect place to cultivate their vineyards.
“At Bodegas Camesía we would like visitors to be able to experience the seasons in our vineyards, to be able to notice exactly what time of the year it is by the thermal sensations, by the plants that are flowering at each moment, by the cycle of the vineyard and also the celebration that the grape harvest represents, the fact of ending the cycle and starting it again…”.
