ALL ABOUT WINE2024-05-21T11:26:03+00:00

CAMESÍA BODEGAS DEL ALTO EBRO has recovered the winemaking tradition in Valderredible after VII centuries.

It is in the Royal Valley of Valderredible, in the south of Cantabria, where we have more hours of sunshine and less rainfall, and therefore the climate is more suitable for the production of a red wine with fruity nuances, with hints of plum and red fruits, with good potential for ageing.

Without a doubt, the entrepreneurial attitude and motivation are a good start, but the initial investment has been followed by many days of work and a lot of knowledge, the result of an apprenticeship that continues today.

The annual cycle of the vine

The life of the vine is marked by seasonal changes, i.e. by variations in the average temperature and humidity... WINTER ON THE VINE PRUNING + FERTILISER + SOIL + TREATMENT This cycle begins a few weeks after the grape harvest. If in the middle of the 17th century, with the appearance of the glass bottle, the problems of transporting, storing and bottling wine were solved, [...]

A living laboratory: the minerals in the soil in which it grows, the hours of sunshine, the humid breeze of the Ebro river... This living laboratory processes all these influences and converts them into aroma and taste. The vine is not a demanding plant: it needs little water, little food and can withstand extreme climates.
